A UNION BLESSED BY THE SPIRITS OF THE RAINFOREST
Within the tradition of the Merayas — the great master healers of Shipibo medicine — the spiritual wedding represents the union of two spirits. This union can only take place when the energies of both people are compatible, and a genuine attraction exists — on the spiritual plane as much as on the physical one. The work of the healer is to prepare that union.
Marriage is a sacred agreement between two souls, a conscious commitment to walk the path of life together. For some couples, this bond feels deeper, as if it extends beyond this lifetime and carries echoes of previous connections.
THE ENERGIES BEHIND A RELATIONSHIP
However strong the love that unites two people may be, life as a couple is not always easy, and many relationships struggle or fall apart without any clear or logical explanation. Behind many broken homes, there are often dark energies at play — sometimes arising from outside influences — that affect family life and hinder the spiritual growth of the souls involved. These energetic interferences can disturb harmony, communication and the natural flow between partners.
Sometimes, people carry impurities in the aura. These dense or toxic energies can create blockages between two people who are, in essence, compatible. Such impurities may give rise to rejection, conflict, disagreement or emotional difficulties that prevent both spirits from fully recognising each other.
In these cases, a special treatment may be required to resolve love-related problems, restore harmony and allow love to flow freely again.
For this reason, before the ritual can take place, a profound process of preparation begins — both physical and spiritual.

PREPARATION & TREATMENT
Before the ritual, both partners must undergo a purification and healing process. This preparation allows their systems to be cleared and their energies aligned, creating the right conditions for the spiritual union to take place.
However, this kind of work requires an enormous amount of energy. The treatment begins with energetic cleansing and purification, followed by energetic transfusions of magnetic energies and defence energies to strengthen the body’s natural energies and restore its balance. During their treatment, each partner accumulates a great amount of kano — the energetic essence of all the medicines received throughout the treatment: Ayahuasca, San Pedro, the dieta, the plant baths, mapacho, rapé, sananga and the ícaros. Throughout the process, the Maestro works on each partner individually to make sure the different energies in each person are brought into harmony.
Only when a person’s energy is recharged, strengthened and protected does it reach the necessary intensity for the aura to become luminous and radiant. It is precisely this light that makes it possible to channel the spirits from higher dimensions.
SPIRITS FROM HIGHER DIMENSIONS
Within the Meraya tradition, different spirits belong to different planes, and different works require the assistance of different spirits. For a spiritual wedding, it is not enough to invoke the spirits of the first planes; instead, the Maestro calls upon spirits belonging to higher dimensions. For this to be possible, the body must be prepared and the aura must be very luminous and hold enough light to channel their presence.
During the treatment, the Maestro evaluates the couple’s evolution daily. In some cases, the process may require more time — particularly when the auras are not yet compatible, or when their energies are not aligned in the four cardinal points. In these situations, additional work is needed before both spirits can unite.
The work consists of helping each person recover their optimal natural state and strengthening their own energies, so that attraction can arise authentically. Just as in everyday life two people need to feel attracted, fall in love and choose one another, the same occurs on the spiritual plane. Nothing is forced. As the treatment progresses, both partners are spiritually beautified, so that their spirits can recognise each other and feel that mutual attraction.
THE FINAL RITUAL
Once all the spiritual work has been completed, the Maestro will choose the exact day on which the final ritual is to take place. It is also the Maestro who indicates beneath which teacher tree the ritual will be held — remocaspi, sirena caspi or another of the great trees of the forest.
Members of the Onikano team take part in this ritual, some of them symbolically representing Mother Earth through leaves, branches and other natural elements. Other guests of the retreat are also present in this joyful celebration. Drums and ceremonial instruments accompany the ritual.
No two spiritual weddings are alike. The ritual unfolds according to how the spiritual work has evolved during the preceding days, and each union takes its own unique form in the physical world.
The unfolding of the ritual is not improvised; every detail carries meaning. It reflects what has already taken place on the spiritual plane.

DURATION & PRACTICAL INFORMATION
The Spiritual Wedding is the only ritual that is not included in the standard retreat programme at Onikano. It is offered as a separate service and performed only when the appropriate spiritual conditions are present.
Both partners should express their intention to take part in the ritual at the very beginning of the retreat. This allows Maestro Niwen Koshi to guide the necessary energetic preparation in the days leading up to the ceremony.
The treatment can usually be carried out over one week, during which the fundamental work is completed. Couples who wish to go considerably deeper are advised to book a two- or even three-week retreat, allowing for far more complete and profound work.
The cost of the ritual is 500 EUR. Once the Spiritual Wedding has been confirmed by the Maestro, payment is preferably made in cash at the centre; alternatively, it can be paid by PayPal or bank transfer.
Couples who feel called to celebrate their relationship through this sacred Meraya ritual are welcome to get in touch with us to arrange their retreat and make this experience possible.
