AUTHENTIC AYAHUASCA RETREAT – IQUITOS, PERU
Onikano is a traditional Shipibo Ayahuasca retreat set deep within the Allpahuayo-Mishana National Reserve, in the Peruvian Amazon — one of the very few centres still owned and led by the family whose lineage it continues. At its heart is Maestro Heberto García — known within the Shipibo tradition as Niwen Koshi.
That continuity shapes everything about the way we work:
• A safe, closely guided environment
A warm, family-run atmosphere, where every guest feels grounded and fully supported — with Maestro Niwen Koshi’s decades of experience present throughout the entire process.
• Truly personalised treatments
No two journeys are the same. Each healing process is individually tailored — honouring your unique history, needs, and intentions from the first day to the last.
• A living spiritual tradition
At Onikano, healing is not a spiritual spectacle. It is a living lineage — passed down through generations of Shipibo healers, and practised here with the same integrity it has always carried.
Many people arrive here after years of searching. What they find is a place where the work is real, the tradition is intact, and the healing is personal.
Each process has its own rhythm.
Choose the duration that best supports yours.

MAESTRO NIWEN KOSHI
(HEBERTO GARCÍA)
After guiding thousands of ceremonies over more than three decades, Maestro Niwen Koshi is respected for the depth of his knowledge, his integrity and the sense of safety he brings to the ceremonial space.
He was born into one of the oldest surviving shamanic lineages in the Peruvian Amazon, carrying the living legacy of generations of legendary Maestros. Within the tradition, his grandfather Yosi Ocha is remembered as one of the last Merayas — healers associated with the highest level of traditional Shipibo curanderismo.
His work is rooted not only in ceremony itself but also in a deeply personalised approach to healing — one that honours the unique emotional, physical, and spiritual processes of each person who arrives at Onikano.
Under his guidance, healing is approached with patience, integrity, and profound respect for both the plants and the traditions from which this knowledge emerges.
